Structure of the Accademia
The accademia l’arte del mondo offers eight scholarships and place for eight additional participants each season (with the instrumentation varying as required). Instructors and participants not only work in a teacher-student relationship but also make music together. This structure affords the participants well-grounded experience that will remain with them throughout their musical careers.
A_Scholarship Holders
Upon selection for a scholarship, these musicians have committed themselves to take part in all four work and presentation phases of the season. Room and board (except for work phase 1B) and tuition are covered by the accademia l’arte del mondo. Scholarship holders also receive an expense allowance.
B_Additional Participants
Musicians selected for this group commit themselves to take part in at least two of the season’s work phases. These participants pay €200 for room and board in each work phase (except 1B). Tuition is covered by the accademia l’arte del mondo.
All participants receive an honorarium for the subsequent concerts. The instrumentation of the orchestra may vary from one venue to the next.
